The Duplex Parallel Greensand Filter System – VIP-1E Series is a high-capacity packaged system engineered for the simultaneous removal of iron, manganese, and hydrogen sulfide in heavy-use commercial and industrial environments.
Featuring two tanks that operate in parallel, this system doubles available flow rates while ensuring no unfiltered water bypasses the system during backwash cycles. Managed by the solid-state VIP-1E electronic controller, it is an ideal solution for industrial processing plants, large-scale laundromats, and municipal facilities that require high-volume, demand-initiated filtration with peak durability.
- Duplex parallel operation. No unfiltered water bypass during backwash.
- VIP-1E electronic metered or time clock feature & UL listed.
- Solid state single metered demand initiated backwash including rate of flow meter, resettable totalizing meter & self diagnostic status monitoring. NEMA enclosed controller.
- Lead-free brass multiport control valves with self-cleaning, hydraulically balanced positive acting piston.
- Par 2 – Systems offer one single pipe size larger flow meter!
- ABS tank liner for longer service life. FRP wrapped for strength and corrosion resistance. ANSI/NSF listed tanks.
- 120V/60Hz/1pH transformer included/ twist lock style electrical connections/ 24V control voltage.
- Optional: Differential pressure backwash feature.
- Optional: VIP-2E triplex and/or quadraplex units available.

Note: Manganese-treated greensand plus must be supplied with sodium hypochlorite or potassium permanganate on a continuous basis. Normally a chemical feed pump is used for this purpose. Chemical is pumped into the raw water prior to contact with the greensand filter. Contact our commercial support department for help with sizing and pricing of the chemical pumps.
Note: 1″, 1.5″ and 2″ flow meters supplied with above products are plastic. 3″ and 4″ are insertion type paddle wheel flow meters utilizing copper tees. Other materials are available on special order.
Note: Duplex parallel systems have next size larger flow meter to handle double the flow rate. If not required, order duplex alternating system and program for parallel mode.
