Water Treatment for Car Washes

About Car Wash Water Treatment
Car wash owners know they have to provide soft water for customers to rinse their vehicles and get that spot-free shine. Leaving hard water residue on customer’s vehicles is a sure-fire way to lose business fast.
That is where Robert B. Hill Co comes in. We have been in business for over 60 years providing the best water softening products and services in the industry. We can come out and give your car wash a FREE water test and build you a custom quote. No obligation or payment required.
Why Would a Car Wash Need Water Treatment?
“Hard Water” is due to calcium and magnesium in your water supply. Hard water creates build up in your pipes and leave ugly spots on your customer’s vehicles.
Adding a Robert B. Hill Co water softening system can drastically reduce the hardness in your water and give your customer a spot-free shine. It can also keep your plumbing running efficiently and effectively with less mineral build-up. Also, soft water creates a soapy lather with less soap required.
That means your car wash can use less soap per customer and still achieve the same effect, saving your car wash money over time.

What is the Best Water Treatment for a Car Wash?
There is a wide range of products that can help reduce the amount of magnesium and calcium in your water. However, the best water treatment for a car wash is a reverse osmosis system. Reverse Osmosis Systems remove TDS from water using pressure through a membrane that separates the water into the concentrate (reject water) and permeate (product water). The systems operate in a pressure range from 200 psi to 1200 psi depending on the application.
Reverse osmosis systems can remove up to 95% of TDS (Total Dissolved Solids) from your water supply and ensure your car wash provides a spot-free rinse.
Does My Car Wash Need Water Treatment?
The short answer is, probably. Recently released figures from the Water Quality Association shows that roughly 85% of Americans have hard water. Any measurement above 3.5 gpg TDS is considered hard water.
Most car washes use city water which are treated by water facilities to only about 8 gpg of hardness. That means there is a lot of magnesium and calcium left in the water running through your plumbing.
