In this blog, we will talk about the benefits of a skid-mounted water treatment system. As you read, you will learn about the customization of each skid moving on to pre-installation, testing, durability, installation, and cost. We should first explain what a skid-mounted water treatment system is. It is a completely customizable commercial or industrial-scale water treatment system that is pre-mounted, pre-piped and pre-tested at our facility prior to installation.
As we stated, skids are unique in that they are completely customizable and designed specifically for the requested water treatment needs and specifications. During this process, it is determined what size water treatment system is needed depending on the demand of the facility and what capacity it requires. Once this has been determined, a design is drawn up with all specifications necessary to build the skid.
Once the design is approved, it’s time to build! All of the components required for the water treatment system are pre-installed on the skid. This will include pre-mounting the vessels, control valves, and meters, pre-piping, and pre-wiring.
With the scale of commercial and industrial skid-mounted water treatment systems, we have to think about durability making it a priority in our design process. To ensure durability and functionality no matter the conditions, our skid-mounted systems can be designed with explosion-proof wiring and control panels. Explosion-proof wiring requires specialized conduits, sealant materials, and condensation drains. This is typically seen in petrochemical applications.
Now that the pre-installation process is completed, we want to make sure all components are in working order. We test all components at our facility prior to shipment and installation. This will save time at installation and during the start-up process. Once all components are tested, it’s wrapped up and secured as is for shipment.
Skid-mounted water treatment systems make installation a “quick” process. Because the entire system is pre-mounted, it simply needs to be positioned into its designated space at the facility. Once in position, the system is then loaded with the gravel support layers, resin, connected to the main water supply, connected to the electrical supply and the started-up process begins.
The final benefit of customizing a skid-mounted water treatment system is the cost. Again, because the system is skid mounted and the installation is said to be “hassle-free”, it reduces field labor costs along with installation expenses.
The hope of this blog is to show you the benefits of a skid-mounted water treatment system. We started by explaining what a skid-mounted water treatment system is exactly. From there we discussed the uniqueness of the systems in that they are completely customizable to the need and specifications of the facility. Then we walked through the pre-installation, durability, installation, and lastly the cost benefits. The most important benefit to take away from this blog with is how customizable each skid-mounted water treatment system is and the efficiency with installation.
